If you want to know just a little bit more about Michael Jackson, Dateline NBC on Friday (Sept. 25) will air a one-hour special about Rabbi Shmuley Boteach’s new book on the king of pop.
Huh?
Seems that Boteach, the media-savvy Orthodox rabbi, did 30 hours of taped interviews with Jackson more than eight years ago.
Boteach tells the Jewish Week that he and Jackson shared a desire to see Friday night—the Jewish Sabbath—become a family night in more homes.
“Michael loved coming to our house for Friday night dinners with his kids,” Boteach told The Jewish Week.
He also said: “…whether you loved or hated Michael Jackson, this was a tragic waste of a life. He had a mixed history, he reached many people and he may have been guilty of terrible things, but that doesn’t mean he had nothing to say. He’s never given credit for becoming very introspective about life in general, and his own life. I want people to hear him in his own voice and judge him based on the full facts.”
So there you go.
